Modeling Problem Solving Environments Using Eai Concepts

چکیده
Problem Solving Environment (PSE) provides computational facilities to the activities carried out by scientists. The development of this kind of applications is a real challenge for the scientific community. At present, complex software systems, to provide computing services at different levels, are built as the integration of remote and distributed software and hardware components. The key to manage these challenges lies mainly on how the software architecture is designed. On the other hand, the specification of the organizational process to be supported by the application is also an important aspect. Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and Enterprise Architectures frameworks have been developed to facilitate and unify the development of enterprise systems. Enterprise systems are proposed as integrated information systems, covering most of the enterprise business process. An EAI framework (EAIF) provides a unifying description of this kind of systems facilitating their evaluation and their comparison. This work aims to apply the conceptual models proposed in the area of integrated information systems to the context of PSE. The mapping of concepts can be considered as a way to evaluate a PSE because it will allow to identify precisely central aspects of integration platform that could be missing or need improvement. The mapping can also increase the understanding of the needs and, hopefully, the awareness of new opportunities for improving the system

Effects of using learners' produced screencast as worked examples in learning
In this study, we compared the effect of learning by worked example and the cognitive load imposed by learner creating or using screencast in three conditions; studying worked examples (USER), example-problem pairs (PRUS) and problem solving (PRODUCE) in learning calculus problems. Our results showed a significant difference in transferring test performance and effectiveness between PRUS and US...
متن کاملEffects of Interruptible Load on Decision Making of a Distribution Company in Competitive Environments
The main goal of this paper is to present a new day-ahead energy acquisition model for a distribution company (Disco) in a competitive electricity market environment with Interruptible Load (IL). The work formulates the Disco energy acquisition model as a bi-level optimization problem with some of real issues, and then studies and designs a Genetic Algorithm (GA) of this optimization problem to...
